BUILDING BRIGHTER FUTURES

This is Graeme Wright, the CEO of our two Children’s Villages in South Africa, Lily of the Valley and iKhethelo.

The villages vision, “Building Brighter Futures” highlights the fact that all of our children have dark and painful beginnings to life. Each and every one has either been orphaned or come out of horrific situations of abuse or neglect. BUT all that changes through LoVE! Our team supports all those on the ground, with the help of God, so see these children’s lives turn around. They come out of the darkness and pain and have opportunities that many only dream of!

The work LoVE is doing literally puts food on the table and covers the basic needs! AND we have also had the honor of helping young adults, who have no family supporting them. Some of our children have gone on to become chefs, lawyers, doctors, recording artists and more!

Pray for the kids at Lily of the Valley in South Africa.

Lily is our original children's home. For the past 19 years we have sent support, both financial and other, to help raise these amazing children with hope and love. We have capacity for 118 children, but recently the Department of Social Development has been low on funds, so they have been attempting to reunite children with relatives. Sometimes this works out well, but often the homes they go into are not good for children. Please pray for those who are being reunited to be safe and loved. And for the children in our care, please pray for hope, healing and resources. These kids deserve and will have BRIGHT FUTURES!

Our short term goal is to increase our fundraising substantially. We have a $2,000,000 relocation project to move one of our Children’s Villages to a safer location. We also have a $1,000,000 baby home project. In addition to those we have multiple projects to improve education and deal with water and electricity issues.

Pray for the kids at iKhethelo in South Africa.

iKhethelo means "Chosen Ones" and these kids really are chosen by God and by us! They are loved, seen and known! The original name for the village was Makaphutu, which means “mother of food.” It started as a soup kitchen run by a sweet lady who just wanted to help the community. As orphaned or abandoned street kids came to get food, she knew she needed to do something so started a children’s village! Years later the managers of Lily were able to step in and help. The biggest current prayer requests for the kids at iKhethelo include the need for additional funds, protection of their land, solutions for water issues and good school options.
